Well it’s October and you know what that means?
It’s Pumpkin time baby!
And today I’m going to show you how to make a Pumpkin Protein Shake.
Hey I love Pumpkin Pie just as much as the next guy and I will have my share this season.
But unless you want to look like a Pumpkin, you might want to limit your Pumpkin Pie intake.
The good news is that this bad boy allows you to get the taste of a pumpkin pie without loading up on all the sugar.
Plus it’s a great way to get all the good nutrients that Pumpkins provide without the risk of losing a finger trying to carve one up first thing in the morning.
Why Men Should Eat More Pumpkin?
#1: Reduce Risk of Diabetes & Heart Disease
Pumpkin has lots of Fiber. Many of us are not too keen on eating lots of high fiber foods like vegetables. But you know what? We need it. In fact, according to this WebMD article, men 50 years and YOUNGER should be eating about 38 grams of fiber EACH DAY. You read that right – 38 Grams per day fellas. Why? Because it may reduce the risk of Diabetes and Heart Disease. You want to be around to raise your kids right?
#2. Weight Loss: Fiber also helps us to feel more full and slow digestion, both of which help with weight loss.
#3. Clean Digestive Tract: Not going to sugar coat this one – food that gets stuck in your digestive tract is digusting and unhealthy! Keep that food moving along by eating more fiber! You might notice your stomach become more flat too!
OK so how do I make a Pumpkin Protein Shake?
An easy way to eat more Pumpkin is by making a delicious shake with it. The shake below tastes is very close to Pumpkin Pie and is super quick and easy to make.
Here’s how to make a Pumpkin Power Shake
1. 1 Scoop All Natural Vanilla Whey Protein
2. 1/2 Can Organic Canned Pumpkin
3. 1 teaspoon of Organic Cinnamon
4. 1/2 teaspoon Organic Nutmeg
5. 1 Cup Water
6. 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil (fat is important to absorb fat soluble Vitamins like Vitamin A in Pumpkin)
5. Handful of Ice Cubes
6. 10 Oz. Water
That’s it! It’s super easy, tastes really good, it’s filling (thanks to the fiber) and contains a lot of good nutrition like Beta Carotene.
Oh! Here’s one more cool factoid, research shows that canned Pumpkin has 20 times more beta carotene than fresh Pumpkin. Check out this study – It’s Canned Pumpkin That Packs The Vitamin Punch
Man, this sounds so delicious. Think I’m going to try that out this week.
Nice! Let me know what you think. It’s one of my favorites, especially this time of year…it’s a festive protein shake 🙂
